- Indian police AI facilitates Maharashtra Cyber Police to recruit 150 cyber consultants quicker and equitably.
- AI utilize voice, facial scans, and intelligent questions to filter candidates impartially.
- AI assists cyber labs, crowd management, and fraud detection, becoming a role model for others.
The Indian police AI initiative is introducing new technology to Maharashtra Cyber Police, which is the first government agency in India to recruit using artificial intelligence.
They are joining forces with VeriKlick, a US firm, and Nova Strategic Operations to test candidates for 150 cyber consultant vacancies. This AI proposal will enable quicker and more transparent recruitment.
Innovative Recruitment with Indian Police AI
Indian police AI robots will carry out first round interviews from this month, with voice verification, face scans, and smart questions. The robots have been trained on 70,000 hours of data and grade candidates without being aware of names or gender to prevent bias and detect fraud.
With more than 2,400 candidates applying for the Maharashtra Cyber Security Project, AI will reduce interview duration from weeks to hours. Passed candidates will still undergo a face to face interview to verify results.
Strengthening Cybercrime Defense
Maharashtra’s Indian police AI initiative can serve as a model for other departments. Three cyber labs to fight cybercrime, forensic vans, women’s safety vans, and speed limit vans were opened by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Mumbai Police has set up Women’s Help Rooms in every station to support women.
Melakshetra police AI processed live video to manage crowds so that officers could have efortless movement. AI driven drones offered a bird’s eye view for surveillance as well as emergencies.

Nationwide Impact of AI Policing
Indian police AI in Bihar identified police recruitment scams by identifying fake names and photos, which led to 240 cases.

Cyber commandos, IIT Kanpur and Ministry of Home Affairs’ I4C trained, will lead cyber investigations, support technology teams, and train state police within their states.
This AI initiative shows that technology can make policing intelligent and fair, providing a clear example for others to follow.
